Staedtler Mars micro 775 Mechanical Pencil Video Review

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xu84AvHL7o

The Staedtler Mars micro 775 reminds me a lot of the Pentel Graph Gear 1000 at half the cost.  That doesn’t bode well for the 1000.  :/

Pros: retractable lead sleeve, well-engineered lead-sleeve cushioning o-ring, overall solid construction for a mostly plastic pencil.

Cons: rubber texture and overall grip is a slight weak point, this pencil would be best for people that “grip high”, small eraser likely only to be found online in the States.

Writing experience: Good (grip a tad slippery for my tastes)

Quality: Good+ (as solid as mostly plastic pencils come, solid metal pocket clip, strong lead sleeve retraction function)

Features: Good (a drafting pencil with one of the better retractable sleeves, not much else)

Cost: Cheap (10 USD Retail, 6 on Amazon, available at most art/drafting stores)

For the price, it completely outclasses the Pentel Graph Gear 1000, in my opinion.  I know it seems like I’m out to get that pencil.  The Graph Gear 1000 has everything I want in a pencil…minus a comfortable writing experience.

No Top Ten, but it will replace the Tombow Mono Graph Shaker in the honorable mentions.  Yeah, I realize that not too long ago the Mono Graph was in the Top Ten, but its low plastic quality was bound to knock it down the list. Its a fine pencil, and I recommend it for collectors and for daily use.  The Mars micro is simply better.
